I haven't posted a whole lot about the baseball thing ... it's was certainly a very busy weekend after endless days (or so it felt) of practice. The kids came together and while they were slated as the underdogs to go out early .. played their way almost through the loser's bracket, eliminated two teams and came in 3rd. Not bad at all for their first time at a District Tournament. DS2 was devastated when they were eliminated but is already out playing again and ready for fall ball. Thankfully we'll have a month or so off to recover. With my luck we'll start up about the same time school does. The following pictures are just a few of the highlights. The park made a big deal out of it .. opening ceremonies, little league pledges, Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem (sung beautifully by one of the coaches), player introductions - the whole bit. They raked and watered the fields between games and made a huge production of it for the kids. They played ball for four straight days and learned a little bit about life in the process - which I guess is what it's really all about.
