Here's what happening at my house tonight. The difference in sexes sure emerges when you find one of these. DD is climbing through the top of the tree fort .. the boys are trying to figure out how to catch it. Me, I did put my beer down to take a photo. After living with these guys for so long, it's just another day at the donut store. Same can't be said for the ex-dh who was playing hide and seek with DD and went nose to nose with it. His little run across the yard was rather humorous.

Turns out after a few discussions with friends and a little internet surfing comparing my photos to those rascals indigenous to my area - the ex's approach might have been the best one. Looks like my backyard buddy could be a cottonmouth. We are in a drought and the pond next door is dry - so yippee! Won't my neighbors be loving me tomorrow morning .. nothing like a sunrise, hot cup of coffee and a few pistol rounds to start off your day. If it truly is a cottonmouth it can strike as far as it is long - pistol range is as close as we'll be getting from here on out.
