Football season has arrived

Survival - the word that comes to mind in describing the last week! We made it through the first week of school - where bus schedules, traffic, forms in triplicate, football practice and homework explode into the lacksadaisical world created by summer vacation. Sort of like a mini-tornado spun through the house creating further havoc (like I need some more!) and chaos. Everyone made it to school on time, I made it back to work on time and we even had some time to spend together in the afternoon before sweltering in the humidity at football practice. The kick-off jamboree was yesterday ... hot, bright sunny day, behind schedule, sold out of concessions, team pictures, lots of football and never enough play time. Kids trying out plays against an opponent for the first time, parents either happy or disgruntled - gotta love the sport! It was a beautiful day and when the whole team comes off the field with nothing injured more than feelings and pride - you live to play again. My favorite player happens to be a defensive lineman wanna-be!
