Crazy Hip Blog Mama - Photo Hunt Saturday

This week my Friday and Saturday photo op's merged .... Crazy Hip Blog Mamas are looking at favorite handmade items and Photo Hunters are looking at hobbies. Besides photography and my flowers, I love to quilt. I don't get to do it alot, but can completely immerse myself in it when the opportunity presents itself. In just a week and a half I am headed to Paducah for the AQS quilt show and some great classes. Doesn't hurt that the quilt museum and some of the greatest quilters will be there. Hopefully I'll have some great stories and photos to share when I return. In the meantime here are some photos of my favorite handmade items. The first is a color crayon quilt ... I drew a picture of my daughter sitting on the porch from a photo I had taken, colored the drawing and quilted it with some beadwork. The other photos are of a broken lonestar. One of the first big projects I ever attempted and didn't have a clue of what I was doing. It still needs to be quilted, somewhere in the spare time my Mommydom allows. It's amazing how the center came together despite me!

I've always admired people who can quilt!! It's something I've just never been able to grasp. You would have loved the museum I went to last month...they had a special exhibit of quilts, dating back to the 1800's...it was awesome:-)

Beautiful quilts! :) You are very talented. :) I once made a tiny quilt cover for a pillow at a Girl Guide camp and that was a lot of work, so I admire anyone who can create regular-sized quilts. Lovely!
